I think it thins the skin so that is why with laser it is not reccomended so it makes the skin more sensitive not sure if this is correct but i'd love to know why you cant use it while doing treatments. But i have hormone problems so i had to get laser hair removal treatment which is starting to give me acne, back again on my face. The person that does the laser on me , said i shouldn't use pro active because it could make the laser not work anymore, on killing the hair growth. What should i do ? do you think i should use proactive without telling the person , or i shouldn't take a chance because maybe proactive will make my problem even worst ? I'm in Honduras in a location where things are not so easy to get but I have translated antibacterial benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid this to Spanish and hopefully it is available at the Farmacia. I assume that if I find these items to treat the acne that I beleive has been brought on by the climate change? I have usually had the problem of dry skin and now my face is consistently oily. As for Proactiv, It didn't do anything for me - It did work for some of my friends though. I guyss it's different for each person. I've just been to see a dermatologist last week. I have been put on a regime of doxycyline twice a day, benzoyl peroxide wash in the am, and retin A in the pm. Its been 7 days and I feel like my mild acne is worse...but I have been very consistent about following the regime. I will keep hoping for the best in 6-8 weeks. I’m glad I saw this post.
